Crane Service Manager Wins a Lifetime of Riches

audio icon An evening of unwinding at home after work for one service manager turned out to be more exciting than expected.  David Shiner of Crane was left "speechless" after purchasing a Missouri Lottery "Lifetime Riches" Scratchers ticket at Underwood Express Mart, Highway 160 in Highlandville, on March 30.

"I just got done with work and started scratching," Shiner began.  "The first number on the card was a 12, so I scratched the prize and bingo!"

Shiner, a first-time Lottery winner and father of two, said he "felt a lot of pressure go away" after uncovering the top prize of $50,000 a year for life on his ticket.

"I am pretty much speechless right now," he revealed.  "It’s a break and a chance.  That’s why everybody plays.  Everybody is just looking for that break."

When asked about plans for the prize money, Shiner noted that he is preparing to hit the road.

"I’ve got a very sick mother in the hospital right now that I haven’t been able to go see, so that’s the first thing," he said.

"Lifetime Riches," a $10 game with a top prize of $50,000 a year for life, officially began on April 22, 2006.  The game features more than $100 million in prizes.  To date, there are two top prizes remaining in play.
