A Sugar Creek man is $83,043 richer after matching all five numbers in the March 19 Show Me Cash drawing.  Philip Leonard, 43, purchased the winning ticket from 24 Hi-Way Thriftway, 1000 W. U.S. Highway 24 in Independence.  Leonard claimed his prize at the Missouri Lottery’s Kansas City regional office on March 20.

Show Me Cash offers a rolling jackpot that starts at $50,000 and increases by at least $5,000 at each drawing.  Leonard is the 24th Show Me Cash jackpot winner since the game began on Sept. 8, 2008.  He used the game’s Quick Pick feature to allow the computer to choose the numbers randomly for him.  Those winning numbers were:  13, 17, 22, 31 and 39.

The Missouri Lottery generates nearly $1 billion a year in sales and contributes more than $265 million annually to Missouri public education programs, including the A+ Scholarship Program, the Virtual Schools program, Special Education Excess Costs, the Vocational Rehabilitation Program and Future Minority Teacher Scholarships.  In fiscal year 2008, the Missouri Lottery ranked sixth in percentage increase in sales among the 42 United States lotteries.
