ST. LOUIS WOMAN TURNS $1 INTO TRUCK
A St. Louis woman turned $1 into a new truck after the Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket she purchased turned out to be a top-prize winner. Margaret Jackson (63104*), 50, said she stopped in Johnson’s Amoco, 205 S. Vandeventer in St. Louis on Friday to buy a fruit punch drink. While there, she decided to buy one "Truckin’ To Luckytown" instant ticket.
"A couple of people at work have played this game, so I decided to buy one," said Jackson. "I’ve been talking about getting a truck."
In addition to the 2001 Ford F-150 Lariat 4WD Supercrew Styleside SB truck, Jackson will also receive $500 for gas money. The lottery will pay 28 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding tax on the prize package.
"Truckin’ To Luckytown" officially went on sale June 10.
