Raytown State Employee's Pick 4 Numbers Hit

Story Photo Persistence paid off for a Missouri state employee when she won $3,250 on a Missouri Lottery Pick 4 Numbers Game.  Dawn Amos, 39, has been playing the same Pick 4 numbers for years, but had never won a "big" prize.  However, her luck changed on Feb. 26 when she matched four numbers on a ticket that she purchased at QuickTrip, 8733 E. 63rd St. in Raytown.

"I stick to the same 10 sets of numbers," revealed Amos.  "They (numbers) hit every so often, but this is the most I’ve ever won."

Amos, an administrative assistant at the Probation and Parole State Office in Kansas City, noted she had plans for her prize money that included buying her 19-year-old son a new transmission for his car, paying bills and purchasing NASCAR™ tickets.

"You have to get tickets early, because they sell out," she said.  "I’m going to take my son with me to the race."

Pick 4 is 50 cents or $1 per play and has an average of 130 winners per draw.  Players can win from $30 to $6,000 on a $1 play by matching a wide variety of numbers and combinations.  Drawings are held daily at 12:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
