Schell City Woman Wins $100,000 Top Prize

Story Photo A stop to a convenience store before work led a dairy laborer from Schell City to a $100,000 prize.  Paula Gray, a first-time Lottery winner, purchased the winning Missouri Lottery "Silver and Gold" Scratchers ticket from Pitt Stop, 115 E. Highway 54 in El Dorado Springs, on Feb. 11.

"I took the ticket back into the store after I saw that I had won," revealed Gray.  "I called my husband and told him the news.  He said, ’I’m ready to go to Kansas City today if you are ready!’"

Moments later, Gray picked up her husband, Mark, and they took a detour to claim their $100,000 top prize at the Kansas City Lottery office.

According to Gray, she is looking forward to getting out of debt and paying bills with the prize money.

"I’ve never won a big prize before, so this was really a shock," said Gray.

"Silver and Gold," a $5 game with a top prize of $100,000, officially began on Aug. 30, 2008.
