St. Louis Woman Wins $65,000 Show Me Cash Jackpot
A 72-year-old retired Southwestern Bell manager is $65,000 richer after winning the Missouri Lottery Show Me Cash jackpot on Jan. 27. Joan Deimeke, a first-time Lottery winner, purchased her winning ticket from Bob’s Liquor, 9347 Gravois Road in St. Louis.
"I was on my way home when I decided to stop at Bob’s Liquor," said Deimeke. "I never played Show Me Cash before, so I tried a ticket."
According to Deimeke, she "turned white" when she scanned the winning ticket at the same store days later.
"My hands were shaking so bad, I could hardly sign the ticket," revealed Deimeke. "The gentleman working there started dancing around the store, but all I could do was stand there!"
When asked about plans for the prize money, Deimeke noted she hoped to purchase a new vehicle.
"I am going to buy something American-made," said Deimeke.
Deimeke used Quick Pick to select the winning numbers: 8, 18, 27, 29 and 32.
Show Me Cash offers a rolling jackpot starting at $50,000, which increases by at least $5,000 each drawing. Deimeke was the 18th Show Me Cash jackpot winner since the game began on Sept. 8.
