Independence Man is "5X Lucky"

Story Photo Michael Greenfield "had a notion about something" while shopping on Feb. 12.  Little did he know that it would lead to a $25,000 winning Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket.  He decided to buy a "5X Lucky" Scratchers ticket at Price Chopper, 4201 S. Noland Road in Independence, before heading home to his family.  Later, scratching the ticket while watching television, he got the surprise.
"I saw the $5,000," recalled Greenfield, "and couldn’t believe it."
Then his wife, Trivia, shouted, "You won five times!"

"We started jumping and shouting at that point," said Greenfield.

Greenfield, 52, said that he has won before, but never much.  He plans to use the money to pay bills, pay his rent in advance and look for a newer car.
"5X Lucky" is a $2 game and features a top prize of $25,000.  The game officially began on Dec. 10, 2008, and there are several prizes remaining.
