A De Soto woman is starting the year $200,000 richer thanks to a purchase she made last fall. Francesca Speidel, 51, matched all five white-ball numbers in the Powerball drawing held on Sept. 27, 2008, and just recently claimed her $200,000 prize.
Speidel used Powerball’s Quick Pick feature to allow the computer to randomly select her numbers. The winning combination was: 13, 24, 29, 40 and 52.
She purchased the winning ticket at Country Mart, 20 Jefferson Square in De Soto.
Powerball is a multi-state game that features jackpots starting at $20 million. Speidel’s ticket was the 113th second-level winning Powerball ticket sold in Missouri. In the time since that September drawing, 12 additional Powerball tickets sold in Missouri have also won $200,000. Players have 180 days from the drawing to claim prizes.
