St. Louis City Worker Lands $200,000 Powerball Prize

Grandkids and New Year’s Eve proved to be a winning combination for Joseph Ingram, 66, of St. Louis (63109)*. His decision to purchase a Powerball ticket on the way to babysit his daughter’s children on New Year’s Eve led to a $200,000 “reward” when he matched all five white-ball numbers for the Dec. 31 drawing.

Ingram checked his numbers against the television broadcast of the drawing, noting that the excitement surrounding such a large win made it a little hard to sleep that night.

While “reality hasn’t set in yet,” he has plans to continue working and saving his money.

Ingram used Powerball’s Quick Pick feature to select his winning numbers on the ticket purchased at Barnett’s Market, 2600 Virginia in St. Louis.

Powerball is a multi-state game that features jackpots starting at $20 million. To view a list of unclaimed Powerball prizes or learn more about how to play Powerball, visit Molottery.com.
