Winning Lotto Jackpot Ticket Sold In New London

If you buy Missouri Lotto tickets at Abel’s Quik Shop, 409 W. First St. in New London, you’d better check your tickets! One Lotto ticket sold there matched all six numbers drawn Dec. 10 to win the $1.4 million jackpot.  The winning numbers are:  5, 9, 21, 30, 37 and 41.

"Abel’s customers should check their tickets carefully," said Susan Goedde, communications manager for the Missouri Lottery.  “If you find yourself holding the winning ticket, sign the back and put it in a safe place until you can claim your prize at a Missouri Lottery office.”

Lottery offices are located in Kansas City, Jefferson City, St. Louis and Springfield.  Maps to each office can be found on the Lottery’s Web site at molottery.com.

The winner has the option of taking the prize in 25 annual payments of $56,000 before taxes, or as one lump sum prize now, which would be $700,000 before taxes.  Either way, the Lottery will withhold 25 percent for federal taxes and 4 percent for state taxes.

Lotto winners have exactly 180 days from the drawing to claim their prize.  In this case, the winner has until June 8, 2009.

There have been 184 winning Missouri Lotto jackpot tickets sold since the game began in 1986.
