Richland Woman Shares $50,000 Prize with Family

Story Photo A Richland woman is celebrating the holiday season early after uncovering a $50,000 surprise on Nov. 14.  Judy Mercer, 51, stopped at Junction Pit Stop, 104 S. Pine St. in Richland, where she purchased a Missouri Lottery "Jingo Bell Bingo" Scratchers ticket before heading to a local nursing home to visit a friend.
"I was at the nursing home when I scratched off my ticket," said Mercer.  "I kept checking it over and over again to make sure it was right."

According to Mercer, a two-time Lottery winner who won $20,000 on a Missouri Lottery "Monster Money" Scratchers ticket nearly a decade ago, the recent win was a shock and a blessing.

"I feel really lucky," said Mercer.
Mercer, a grandmother of two, noted she planned to share the joy with her family.

"I am going to pay off my house and take my daughter, her husband and the grandkids to Disney World," said Mercer.

"Jingle Bell Bingo," a $3 game with a top prize of $50,000, officially began on Oct. 25.
