Ste. Genevieve Woman Wins $50,003 Lottery Prize

A Ste. Genevieve woman enjoyed a Saturday afternoon with her husband and a $50,003 surprise on Nov. 15.   Mary Jennings, 62, purchased the winning Missouri Lottery "Jingo Bell Bingo" Scratchers ticket from Country Mart, 125 W. Karsch in Farmington, but didn’t realize she had won the top prize right away.

"I scratched the ticket a little, but put it back in my purse without really looking at it," said Jennings.

It wasn’t until later in the day that Jennings brought the ticket back out and showed it to her husband, Clifford, at their Ste. Genevieve home.  It was the second look at the ticket that confirmed Jennings indeed held a winner.

"My husband looked at it and told me I won," said Jennings.  "I was really shocked, because I didn’t notice that the first time."

Jennings and her husband plan to share their good fortune with their children and grandchildren this holiday season.

"Jingle Bell Bingo," a $3 game with a top prize of $50,000, officially began on Oct. 25.
