Fulton Woman Wins Lottery, Again

Story Photo One lucky Fulton woman is $25,000 richer after winning the top prize on a Missouri Lottery "Merry Money" Scratchers ticket.  Dulcy Keesler, 66, purchased her winning ticket on Nov. 14 during an evening of grocery shopping at Gerbes, 2020 N. Bluff St. in Fulton, and wound up with more than stocked cupboards.

"I scratched the ticket at the counter," said Keesler.  "I saw a stocking with a dollar symbol first, and I thought I won $1,000, which I would’ve been happy with.  I kept going and ended up with $25,000."

Keesler checked with the clerk to make sure her ticket was valid.

"I showed the ticket to him (the clerk) to be sure what I was seeing was real," said Keesler.

Keesler’s ticket was indeed a winner, making it the second time she walked away with a Missouri Lottery prize.

"I won $10,000 on a Scratchers ticket a few years ago, but I can’t remember which game I was playing!" Keesler explained.

According to Keesler, this win couldn’t have come at a better time.

"I’ve been praying for a miracle for a while now," said Keesler.  "I feel really lucky and blessed."

Keesler, a mother and grandmother, plans to pay taxes, catch up on bills and buy Christmas gifts for her grandson with the prize money.

"Merry Money," a $2 game with a top prize of $25,000, officially began on Oct. 25.
