One Lottery Player to Ring In New Year As a Millionaire

Story Photo Someone is guaranteed to become a millionaire this January on the Missouri Lottery’s 23rd anniversary.  On Jan. 20, 2009*, one raffle ticket will be drawn to win $1 million in the Lottery’s Million-Dollar Raffle.  Raffle tickets officially go on sale Nov. 17, and sales are limited to only 300,000 tickets.

"Players should buy their tickets early, since we expect this game to sell out quickly," said Scott White, online product manager for the Missouri Lottery.  "With the limited number of tickets available, they will sell fast."

In addition to the $1 million top prize, four $100,000 prizes and 440 $500 prizes will be awarded.  Tickets will be available at all Numbers Games retailers for $10 each.

For $10, a player will receive one unique 10-digit raffle number.  The tickets will be sold in sequential order and will be available until Jan. 17, 2009*, or until all 300,000 tickets have been sold.

* If all 300,000 Million-Dollar Raffle tickets have not been sold prior to the end of sales on Jan. 17, 2009, the Lottery may extend the selling period and publicly announce an alternative drawing date.  Likewise, if all 300,000 tickets have been sold prior to the end-of-sales date, the Lottery may publicly announce an earlier draw date.
