Gallatin Woman Wins $50,000 Lottery Prize

Story Photo A Gallatin woman is ringing in the holidays early this year after winning the top prize on Missouri Lottery "Jingle Bell Bingo" Scratchers ticket.  Vicky Ray, 55, of Gallatin thought she won $90 at first, but ended up scratching her way to $50,000 on Oct. 27.

"I took the ticket home to scratch," said Ray.  "I saw $90 and thought that was pretty good.  Then I saw I won $50,000, but didn’t think that could be true."

Ray, who purchased her winning ticket from Casey’s, 304 N. Main St. in Gallatin, jumped back in the car after discovering she had won.

"I drove to Casey’s to show it to the girl that sold it to me," said Ray.  "I still couldn’t believe it, even after she (the clerk) told me it was real."

Ray plans to put the majority of her prize money in the bank.

"I might buy a few little things, but I’m going to save most of the money," said Ray.

"Jingle Bell Bingo," a $3 game with a top prize of $50,000, officially began on Oct. 25.  To learn more about "Jingle Bell Bingo" or any of the Missouri Lottery’s Scratchers games, visit Molottery.com.
