ARNOLD WOMAN CLAIMS LOTTO JACKPOT

An Arnold woman is $1.2 million richer after matching all six numbers in the June 21 Lotto drawing. Mary Yanick, 58, said she plans to take the jackpot in one cash payment of $600,000 before taxes. Yanick, who is a retired dental assistant, said she is not sure what she will do with the money besides knowing she will be able to help her three grown children and her mother if they should need it. Yanick purchased her winning ticket at Jeffco Station Amoco, 3998 Amoco Blvd. in Arnold. She used a combination of six numbers she has been playing a long time. She can only remember how she picked one of the numbers - 8, her parents wedding date. The rest are a mystery. In addition to Yanick’s jackpot prize, Jeffco Amoco will receive a check for $12,000 - an amount equal to 1 percent of the jackpot - for selling the winning Lotto ticket. To date, 156 winning Missouri Lottery tickets worth $1 million or more have been sold since the Lottery began in January 1986. (Television Note: A satellite feed of the conference will be broadcast at 6:45 p.m. CT Tuesday night, June 27, immediately before the lottery’s drawing show.
