Kansas City Woman Wins $10,000 Prize

A stop for gas led a Kansas City woman to more than a full gas tank on Oct. 14. Nora Kelly of Kansas City filled her wallet with a $10,000 prize on a Missouri Lottery "$100,000 Taxes Paid" Scratchers ticket. Kelly bought the ticket on a whim during a routine trip for gas at Fisca Oil 42, 8312 E. 23rd Street in Kansas City.
"I didn’t think I really won," said Kelly. "I kept asking everyone to look at my ticket to be sure. It wasn’t until the next morning that I started to believe that I won."
When asked what she planned to do with the winnings, Kelly noted that she’d like to purchase a new car.
"I don’t know what type of car I want to get yet," said Kelly. "I’m just excited to have won!"
"$100,000 Taxes Paid," a $5 Scratchers game with a top prize of $100,000 taxes paid, officially began on Oct. 4.
