$1 Million Lotto Ticket Sold In Festus; Fourth Jackpot Sold in Three Weeks

For the fourth time in less than three weeks, a Missouri Lotto ticket matched all six numbers to win a jackpot worth $1 million or more.  According to Lottery records, one ticket sold at the Festus Elks, 4 Elks Drive in Festus, matched all six numbers drawn on Oct. 8 to win the $1 million Lotto jackpot.  The winning numbers were:  11, 16, 18, 29, 32 and 33.

A Lotto ticket worth $1.2 million was sold for the Oct. 4 drawing at Ice House in Kirksville.  On Sept. 24, one ticket matched all six numbers drawn for a $1 million prize.  That prize, sold at Ferguson Amoco, 1032 S. Florissant in Ferguson, was claimed by a St. Louis man.  On Sept. 20, one ticket matched all six Lotto numbers drawn to win the $2.3 million jackpot.  That prize was sold at Boyd Harrison Enterprise in Theodosia, and it was claimed by Bruce Wright of Isabella and his son-in-law Joseph Novak of Gainesville.

"Lotto players have been on a lucky streak," said Susan Goedde, communications manager for the Missouri Lottery.  “Sometimes we go months without a jackpot winner, and sometimes they come back-to-back.  It just shows how random the whole process is.”

If you find you hold the winning ticket, sign the back and put it in a safe place until you can claim your prize at a Missouri Lottery office.  Lottery offices are located in Jefferson City, Kansas City, St. Louis and Springfield.  Maps to each office can be found on the Lottery’s Web site at molottery.com.

Lotto winners have exactly 180 days from the drawing to claim their prize.  In this case, the winner has until April 6, 2009.

There have been 181 winning Missouri Lotto jackpot tickets sold since the game began in 1986.
