Fortune Cookie Forecasts Lottery Prize

Vincent DiPalermo Jr. of Lee’s Summit is counting his pennies after winning $100,000 on a Missouri Lottery “Silver & Gold” Scratchers ticket. DiPalermo had lunch with a friend at a Chinese restaurant on Sept. 9, and the fortune in his fortune cookie said, “Pennies will be finding their way to your door this year.” Ten minutes later he uncovered the $100,000 top prize.
DiPalermo stopped at Price Chopper, 251 S.W. Greenwich Dr. in Lee’s Summit, to purchase lasagna ingredients. He decided to buy one “Silver & Gold” Scratchers ticket, one Lotto ticket, one Powerball ticket and one Show Me Cash ticket.
“I just won $100,000,” DiPalermo said to his friend when he scratched the ticket at the store.
“Then I called my wife and told her to quit work and come home,” DiPalermo said.
DiPalermo plans to use the prize money to fix up his house and to make a few donations. He said he also will probably travel and save some money.
“
Silver & Gold,” a $5 game, officially began on Aug. 30.
