Retired Prison Guard Wins $100,000 Lottery Prize

A retired prison guard enjoyed more than a family visit during a recent trip to her hometown. Grace Williams, 60, stopped at Casey’s, 403 N. Missouri St. in Potosi, for a cold drink and a Lottery ticket on Sept. 9, and ended up with more than her thirst quenched.
Williams, who grew up in Potosi but currently resides in Texas, won the $100,000 top prize in the Missouri Lottery’s "Red Hot Cash" Scratchers game.
"I went out to my car to drink my soda and scratch off my ticket. I was sitting in my car when I realized that I had won. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing," said Williams.
According to Williams, she plans to use her prize money to pay of her new car and other bills.
"This was definitely a good trip to Missouri. I will be back again next year to visit my family, and maybe to buy another ticket," said Williams.
"
Red Hot Cash," a $5 dollar game, officially began on July 19.
