Stover Woman Uncovers $1 Million Prize

Story Photo A convenience store clerk scratched her way to a $1 million prize on a Missouri Lottery "$4 Million Dollar Cash Bonanza" Scratchers ticket on Sept. 10.  Tracy Anderson, Stover, purchased the winning ticket from Hop and Go, 31331 Cup Tree Drive in Gravois Mills.

According to Anderson, a first-time Lottery winner, a customer prompted her to purchase the winning ticket.

"We had just got new bundles of tickets in that day, and a regular customer suggested that we both buy a ticket and scratch it off at the same time," said Anderson, who works at Hop and Go.

The win was a shock for Anderson, who explained she had to ask a co-worker to call her husband with the news.

"I was so nervous after I saw how much I won that I had the other person I was working with that day call my husband and tell him to get here (Hop and Go) right away," said Anderson.

Anderson and her husband plan to pay off their property and purchase a new vehicle with the prize money.

"My husband wants a Harley.  Maybe well get one of those too," said Anderson.

The $20 "4 Million Dollar Cash Bonanza" Scratchers game offers four top prizes of $4 million and 16 prizes of $1 million.  The game officially began on Jan. 26.  Anderson’s ticket is the 5th winning ticket worth $1 million claimed in the game, and the 258th millionaire winner overall since the Lottery began in 1986.
