De Soto Produces Another Scratchers Winner

Story Photo audio icon If the old saying is true, it must be pouring Lottery winners in De Soto.  Following the claims of a $2.4 million Lotto winner and a $250,000 Scratchers winner, another De Soto resident has stepped forward to claim a prize.  Sandra Shomaker, 48, purchased her daily "Crossword" Scratchers ticket from QuickGo, 3525 Athena School Road in De Soto, on Aug. 19.   She took the ticket home to scratch it and discovered the top prize of $50,000.
"I’m still kind of in shock," said Shomaker.
Shomaker, who works at Accent Marketing in Farmington, described herself as a regular Pick 3 player.  Her favorite numbers are 5 – 7 – 9.  She said she enjoys the "Crossword" game because it takes a little time to play.
"It takes you a little while to scratch off your letters instead of scratching everything off at once," explained Shomaker.
In addition to paying bills, Shomaker said that she had always talked with a friend of taking a trip to Las Vegas.
"I might enjoy a little bit of it," Shomaker teased.
"Crossword" is a $3 game that began on March 1.
