Lottery Announces Calendar Contest Winners

Story Photo Rick Shults, an amateur photographer from Salem, won the $500 grand prize when his photo was chosen for the cover of the Missouri Lottery’s 2009 calendar in the Lottery’s annual calendar photo contest.  The theme for the 2009 calendar is Missouri Parks.

In addition to Shults’ win, the photographers whose photos were chosen for the 12 months will receive $100 in Scratchers tickets.  All winners receive a copy of the calendar and a photo credit.

The winners are:
  • Kevin White, Battlefield, whose photos were chosen for January and March;
  • Rebecca Limback, Warrensburg, whose photo was chosen for February;
  • Tammy Pentz, Hillsboro, whose photo was chosen for April;
  • Darrell Barber, Lake Ozark, whose photos were chosen for May and September;
  •  Jerry Shelton, Seymour, whose photo was chosen for June;
  •  Jean Griffith, Columbia, whose photo was chosen for July;
  • Greg Hurt, Cameron, whose photo was chosen for August;
  • Frank Thurston, Battlefield, whose photo was chosen for October;
  • Tracy Bedell, Jefferson City, whose photo was chosen for November; and
  • Mellisa Harbison, Middle Brook, whose photo was chosen for December.
The winning photos will be posted on Molottery.com when the calendars are available for purchase in November.

Five other entrants received honorable mention, and their photos are displayed at Molottery.com.  The honorable mention entries were submitted by Sarah Jones, Kansas City; Stacy Bono, Centralia; Curtis Cruesoe, University City; Lori Maddox, Republic; and Shannon Ware, St. Louis.
