ANOTHER PAINTER FROM HILLSBORO WINS BIG POWERBALL PRIZE

Another painter from Hillsboro got lucky playing Powerball. Robert "Dean" Whiteman Jr. matched all the numbers drawn except the Powerball in Saturday’s drawing to win a second-level prize worth $100,000. Whiteman said he plans to use the money to pay off bills, buy a house and maybe take a trip to the Florida keys next year. Whiteman bought his winning ticket at Tishomingo Quick Stop in Hillsboro. He let the computer pick the winning set of numbers. They were: 7, 9, 23, 37 and 49. Whiteman, who is employed at Steven D. Rasnic Inc., a painting and wallpaper business, is the second painter from Hillsboro to win a big Powerball prize. Not quite seven years ago, painter Roger Poliette of Hillsboro, a painter for Mercantile Bank, and his wife, Shirley, matched all six numbers drawn to win the May 8, 1993, jackpot worth $36.8 million. The Powerball jackpot is estimated at $100 million for tonight’s drawing.
