Kansas City Man Claims $200,000 Powerball Prize
A Kansas City man matched five white-ball numbers in the July 9 Powerball drawing to win $200,000. Louis Hamilton, 59, purchased the winning ticket at Country Club Apple Market, 3508 Northeast Vivion Road in Kansas City. The winning numbers for the July 9 Powerball drawing were 5, 7, 31, 49, 53 and the Powerball was 14. The estimated jackpot for that drawing was $20 million, for which Hamilton lacked only the Powerball number.
Powerball is a multi-state game with jackpots starting at $15 million, and features eight other ways to win from $3 to $200,000. The game also features the Power Play option, which can multiply the lower-tier prizes up to five times the winning amount.
