Jefferson City Man Uncovers $25,000 Prize at Rainbow Market

Story Photo A warehouse manager for Arctic Products in Jefferson City uncovered a $25,000 top prize instantly on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers game.  Nicholas “Nick” Miller, 25, of Jefferson City said he stopped in Rainbow Market, 4404 Rainbow Drive in Jefferson City, on June 28 to buy a soda.  While there, he also bought one $2 “5X The Money” Scratchers ticket and one $2 “Ace in the Hole” Scratchers ticket.  When he scratched the tickets in his car in the parking lot, he discovered the “5X The Money” ticket was worth $25,000.

“I went back in the store, and I told him, ‘I think I just won a lot of money, but I don’t believe it,’” said Miller.

Miller said he and his fiancé, April Roark, plan to use some of the prize money to pay for their upcoming wedding in Jamaica at the end of this month.  He also bought an Xbox 360 and plans to pay off some bills.  He plans to save the remainder.

Both Miller and Roark are also members of the Army Reserves.

"5X The Money," a $2 game, officially began on May 3.
