Troy Trucker Wins $50,000 Tax-Paid Lottery Prize

A truck driver from Troy won $50,000 tax paid* when the five numbers on his SHOW ME 5 Paydown ticket matched the five numbers drawn June 18 during the Midday drawing.  Mark Wieczorek, 48, said he plans to use his prize money to pay off bills and help his only daughter pay for college.

“Maybe we’ll take a trip out to Las Vegas,” he added.

Wieczorek purchased his winning ticket at Fast Lane Winfield, 1009 South Highway 79 in Winfield.  He let the computer select the winning combination, which was 9, 10, 13, 19 and 23.

To date, 135 players have matched all five numbers drawn to win $50,000 tax paid in SHOW ME 5 Paydown since the game began on Nov. 6, 2000.

* The Missouri Lottery will pay 25 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes for the top prize based on its value.  Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund.  Total value of the top prize is $70,422.55.  After withholding, the winners will receive $50,000.  If more than 14 tickets match the five winning numbers in a single drawing, $1 million will divided equally among the number of winning tickets.
