Columbia Man Wins $100,000 Instantly

Story Photo A Columbia man won $100,000 instantly when he uncovered the top prize on a Missouri Lottery "Casino Showdown" Scratchers ticket.

On June 23, Josh Bachman, 35, said he went to Hitt Mini Mart, 111 Hitt St. in Columbia, to cash in some winning tickets and to purchase some new ones.  He started walking to a local coffee shop scratching off the "Casino Showdown" ticket and uncovered the $100,000 top prize.

"I was shaking because I was so excited," Bachman said when he claimed his prize later that day.

Bachman, who is the general manager at Wise Guys Pizza in Columbia, said he plans on investing part of the money, maybe buy a car and spend some on vacation this week.

"I called my friend to give me a ride to Jefferson City," Rodgers said.  "He didn’t believe me."

Casino Showdown," a $5 Scratchers game, officially began on June 14.
