Couple Win $200,000 Powerball Prize

Story Photo Steven "Steve" Bruns, St. Charles, and his fiancée, Geralyn Holley, Urbana, Ill., are $200,000 richer after matching all five white-ball numbers for the May 3 Powerball drawing.

The couple split the $200,000 Powerball prize from a ticket they purchased at St. Andrews Mini Mart, 2000 Campus Drive in St. Charles.  Their winning numbers were:  2, 28, 36, 42 and 46.  They used Quick Pick to let the computer select their numbers.

"We played because the jackpot was big," said Bruns, 55, when he claimed his prize on June 2.
Bruns said he had Holley, 53, have five children between the two of them.  Four of the five children are either in college or getting ready to go to college.  Bruns and Holley each plan to use their prize money to help with college tuition.

"It will come in handy," Bruns said.

The couple’s ticket was the 103rd second-level winning Powerball ticket since the game redesign in August 2005.
