St. Louis Mom Uncovers $77,000 Lottery Prize

A St. Louis (63129)* woman and her family are making plans for house renovations and a family vacation after she won $77,000 playing the Missouri Lottery game "Ruby Red 7’s."  Jacqueline "Jackie" Morgan, 41, purchased her winning on May 15 at Shell, 3294 Telegraph Road in St. Louis.

"I scratched it off in my car, and I was like ’holy cow!’" Morgan said.  "I called my husband, and he didn’t believe me, so I had to go home to show him."

Morgan said after showing the ticket to her husband, Don, they called her mother-in-law, but she didn’t believe them either.

"We ended up going over to her house to show her, and that’s where we left the ticket overnight," Morgan said.  "We have a Chihuahua puppy, and my husband just knew that the puppy would some how get hold of the ticket and tear it up, so we left it at my mother-in-law’s."

Morgan, the mother of three sons, said in addition to the house renovations and vacation, they plan to use some of her winnings to send one of their sons on an educational trip to Washington, D.C., for a few weeks during the summer.

The $5 "Ruby Red 7’s" Scratchers game officially began on May 3.
