Greenwood Woman Wins $100,000 Instantly

Story Photo A Greenwood woman won $100,000 instantly when she uncovered the top prize on a Missouri Lottery "Mega Fortune" Scratchers ticket.

Sabrina Rodgers, 47, said she often buys Scratchers tickets during her morning break at work.  On May 22, she went to Conoco/Circle K, 300 S. 291 Highway in Lee’s Summit, and bought $20 worth of various Scratchers tickets.  She scratched off the "Mega Fortune" ticket first and uncovered the $100,000 top prize.

"I took it in and had the clerk check it, and then took the rest of the day off from work," Rodgers said when she claimed her prize later that day.

Rodgers, who works for Central Building Services for the city of Lee’s Summit, said she doesn’t have any plans for her prize money yet.

"I wanted to be sure it was for real first," Rodgers said.  "I went to show my husband first, and he couldn’t believe it either."

"Mega Fortune," a $5 Scratchers game, officially began on Jan. 12.
