Springfield Woman Wins Dodge Viper In Lottery Promotion

Story Photo Nancy Johnson, Springfield, became the first Missouri Lottery player to win a 2008 Dodge® Viper® SRT10 Coupe plus $500 in the "Muscle Up" promotion.  Johnson’s entry was selected to win the grand prize in a drawing held on May 1.

"I’ve been so excited that I’ve been a basket case since I got the letter (saying I won)," Johnson said.

Johnson, 57, said her aunt called her the day of the drawing to tell her that she was listed as the "Muscle Up" grand-prize winner on the Lottery’s Web site.

"I thought it wasn’t me because there are three Nancy Johnsons where I work," she said.

Johnson, a secretary for Cox South in Springfield, said she plans to take the cash value of the prize, which is $90,845 tax paid.*  She plans to use the prize money to buy a house.

In addition to Johnson’s prize, five players won a trip to their favorite beach plus $500 spending money, and 30 players won $500.
The "Muscle Up" promotion began on March 29.  Players can enter by submitting $10 worth of any combination of the three eligible Scratchers tickets for this promotion.  The eligible games are:  "Big Money," a $5 game; "Winning Fever," a $2 game; and "Cold Hard Cash," a $1 game.  Players can enter as often as they like.
