Story Photo A Curryville woman said she isn’t normally superstitious, but when she received a text message that something good was going to happen to her on Friday, she heeded the message and purchased a Missouri Lottery "Crossword" Scratchers ticket and won $5,000.  Margaret Hartle, 39, said she purchased her winning ticket on March 21 at Casey’s, 110 S. Pine St. in Laddonia.  She claimed her prize on April 28.

Hartle, a mother of three and a grandmother of two, said she plans to surprise her family and use her winnings to purchase a Nintendo® Wii.™

Hartle, who stays at home to care for her young grandchildren, said she and her husband, Kenneth, may also use some of their winnings to go shopping.

The $3 "Crossword" Scratchers game officially began on March 1.
