PARKVILLE MAN WINS $25,000 TAX PAID

What do an Apollo car washer and living room furniture have in common? They are two things a Parkville man plans to buy after winning $25,000 tax paid* in the March 3 SHOW ME 5 drawing. Aaron Smith Jr., 40, said he also plans to use his winnings to pay some of his 1999 income taxes and put some of the money in savings. Smith purchased his winning ticket at QuikTrip, 4510 N.W. Gateway in Riverside, on his way to work one Friday. He needed gas, so he decided to buy some lottery tickets, also. He let the computer randomly-select the winning combination for him. The winning numbers were: 4, 14, 19, 25 and 30. Smith is employed with the Ford Motor Company’s Claycomo plant. * Twenty-eight percent federal and 4 percent state taxes are withheld from the total prize amount of $36,764.70 to provide $25,000 cash at the time of redemption. Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may receive a refund.
