Cape Girardeau Woman Wins Top Lottery Prize
A Cape Girardeau woman had a hard time believing that she won $77,000 playing the Missouri Lottery’s "Lucky 7’s" Sratchers game. Jessie Reavis, 66, said she thought someone was "pulling a trick" on her when she scratched off the Scratchers ticket on April 9 after buying the ticket at Food Giant 73, 1120 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau.
"The first (prize) I scratched off was $10,000," Reavis said. "I couldn’t believe it. I thought for sure that someone was pulling a trick on me. When I scratched off the other prizes, I started shaking like a leaf."
Reavis, who is retired, said she plans to use her prize money to purchase a new garage door for her home and is planning to put the rest of her winnings in the bank for the time being.
The $5 "
Lucky 7’s" Scratchers game officially began on July 14, 2007.
