Lottery Winners Go To Hollywood

Six winners from the Missouri Lottery’s "Deal or No Deal" second-chance promotion recently went to Hollywood to try for a chance to play the real game.  The winners were part of group of 124 lottery "Deal or No Deal" winners from around the country.  While none of the six players from Missouri won the chance to play the real game with Howie Mandel, the banker and the models, they each walked away with a cash prize and a memorable experience.  The winners were:
  • Tamara Tanner, Kansas City, who won $25,000;
  • Michael Shoemaker, Carthage, who won $15,000;
  • Angela Young, St. Louis, who won $10,000;
  • Barbara Bales, Hardin, who won $10,000;
  • Rondal Fisher, Campbell, who won $5,000; and
  • Ruth Hoagland, Fremont, who won $25,000.
"This has been the trip of a lifetime," Shoemaker told the Lottery in an e-mail.

In addition to the prizes they won in Hollywood, the winners each received round-trip airfare for four to Hollywood, four-night hotel accommodations at the Roosevelt Hotel and $500 spending cash.  The winners also had the chance to sit in the audience and watch other lottery winners from the group play Deal or No Deal with Howie Mandel, the banker and the models.  They also had the opportunity to visit Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and Paramount Studios Back Lot and to participate in the Redline Hollywood Tours and California Adventure.

The "Deal or No Deal" promotion began on Sept. 1, 2007, and the last drawing was held on Feb. 1.  Players entered the promotion by submitting one $5 "Deal or No Deal" Scratchers ticket.

In addition to the six grand-prize winners, 30 other Lottery players won a $1,000 cash prize.  For a complete list of winners from the promotion, go to the winners page.
