Sedalia Woman Uncovers $10,000 Lottery Prize

Story Photo A stop for coffee on April 19 turned into $10,000 for a Sedalia woman.  Patricia Johnson, 63, stopped at Casey’s, 1909 W. Main in Sedalia, because she "needed some caffeine."  She had $10 in her pocket, so she bought one Missouri Lottery "Lifetime Riches" Scratchers ticket as well.

"I bought the ticket and went home," Johnson said.  "I drank some coffee and worked in the yard.  Later, I started scratching and it was $500 (prizes) all the way down until I about passed out."

Johnson, who works at Tyson in Sedalia, said she has wanted a plasma TV for her bedroom, and she plans to use her prize money to purchase one.  She has one daughter and three grandchildren, and she said the grandchildren "have their orders in, too."

"Lifetime Riches," a $10 game, officially began on April 22, 2006.
