Texas Man Uncovers $25,000 Lottery Prize

Story Photo A man from Channelview, Texas, is $25,000 richer after he scratched off the prize amount playing the Missouri Lottery’s "Deal or No Deal" Scratchers game.  Aaron Salazar, 34, purchased his winning ticket at Break Time, N. 902 65 Highway in Carrollton, on April 19 when he stopped to buy a cup of coffee.

Salazar said he scratched the ticket off later in the evening and couldn’t believe what he saw.

"I called my wife, but she doesn’t believe me," Salazar said.

Salazar works as an electrician for Tyco Thermal Control and is currently working on a project in the Carrollton area.
Salazar said he and his wife, Martha, got married four months ago, and he’s been working out of town for most of the time since.

"I’m hoping we can take a little honeymoon," he said.

The $5 "Deal or No Deal" Scratchers game officially began on Sept. 1, 2007.
