Jefferson City Man Wins $10,000 Instantly

Story Photo Gene Arros II, Jefferson City, had a hard time convincing everyone, including himself, that he won $10,000 on a "Winning Fever" Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket.  Arros, 20, bought his ticket on April 14 at Gerbes, 2101 Schott Hill Woods in Jefferson City.
When he scratched off the ticket, he uncovered 10 prizes worth $1,000 for a total of $10,000.
"I saw a number one all the way down (the ticket)," Arros said.  "I waited a little bit and scratched off the prize.  It was $1,000 on each one."
Arros went home and woke up his sister to show her the ticket.
"She didn’t believe me," Arros said.  "Nobody believed me.  I didn’t really believe it myself."
Arros, who works at the Dollar General distribution center in Fulton, said he plans to use his prize money to pay bills and maybe to pay off his truck.
"Winning Fever," a $2 game, officially began on March 29.
