Cadet Man Wins $200,000 Powerball Prize

Story Photo Thomas Warden, Cadet, won $200,000 in the Missouri Powerball drawing on March 29 when he matched all five white-ball numbers.  His winning numbers were:  18, 20, 25, 31 and 36.
"I don’t know if it’s sunk in yet," Warden, 55, said when he claimed his prize on April 4.
Warden discovered he had won when he checked his ticket on March 31 while purchasing tickets for the next Powerball drawing.
"I called my wife and asked if we had time to get it to the safe deposit box," Warden said.
Warden, who drives a truck for a salvage yard in Cadet, said he plans to save his prize money for retirement.
Warden purchased his ticket at A-A Little Country Store, Highway E in Cadet.  He let the computer Quick Pick the numbers on his winning ticket.
Warden’s ticket was the 96th second-level wining Powerball ticket since the game redesign on Aug. 28, 2005.
