St. Peters Woman Claims $200,000 Powerball Prize, Plans Wedding

Story Photo A St. Peters woman is now planning her wedding after she won $200,000 playing the Missouri Lottery’s Powerball game.  Heidi Robey, 41, purchased her winning ticket for the April 5 drawing at Classics, 6650 Mexico in St. Peters.  Her ticket matched all five white-ball numbers to win the second-level prize.
Robey said she and her boyfriend, Scott, made a promise to each other when they first met at the Lake of the Ozarks about a year and a half ago.
"If one of us won the lottery, we would get married," Robey recounted when she claimed her prize on April 7.  "I never mentioned it, but he came home and said, ’I guess we’re getting married.’"
Robey, a flight attendant, said she recently had envisioned herself on a billboard holding a check.
"I just thought I was going to win soon," Robey said.  "I decided to buy the ticket on a spur of the moment."
While no wedding date has been set, Robey said she and Scott plan to use the prize money to buy a boat for their many trips to the Lake of the Ozarks and to make some house renovations.
Robey let the computer Quick Pick her winning numbers:  12, 27, 30, 37 and 47.
This ticket was the 98th second-level winning Powerball ticket since the game was redesigned in August 2005.
