Moberly Co-Workers Win $200,000 Powerball Prize
A group of 11 co-workers from Ravenwood Terrace in Moberly are each approximately $18,181 richer after the group won $200,000 on April 5 playing the Missouri Lottery’s Powerball game. One ticket purchased by the group matched all five white-ball numbers drawn to win the game’s second-level prize.
Krystle Taylor, 22, of Cairo purchased the group’s winning ticket at Casey’s, 1222 Hurley in Moberly. She said the group only started playing together about six weeks ago.
"We each put in $2 a week," Taylor said. "We couldn’t believe it when my mom pulled up the numbers on the computer this morning."
In addition to Taylor, the lucky group of co-workers include: Daryl Taylor, Betty Taylor and Melissa Jackson, all of Cairo; Debra Barbey of Clarence; and Barbara Carden, Charles Carden, Mary Neustifter, Robert Neustifter, Dianna Taylor and Amanda Taylor, all of Moberly.
Krystle Taylor said she plans to use her winnings to pay some bills and to go shopping. Her father, Daryl Taylor, said he plans to use his share of the winnings to pay bills.
The group let the computer Quick Pick the numbers on the winning ticket. The winning numbers were: 12, 27, 30, 37 and 47.
This ticket was the 97th second-level winning Powerball ticket since the game redesign on Aug. 28, 2005.
