Illinois Man Wins $10,000 Prize Instantly

Story Photo A Quincy, Ill., man is planning to make some home improvements after he won $10,000 playing the Missouri Lottery’s "100 Million Dollar Blockbuster" Scratchers game.  Kevin Collins, 37, said he stopped at Ayerco 25, 8800 Highway 24 in Taylor, on Feb. 27 to purchase a few Scratchers tickets.
"I couldn’t believe it," Collins said about finding out he had just purchased a ticket worth $10,000.  "I started shaking.  I went back inside, and I tipped the clerk who sold me the ticket."
Collins, who works in sales at a department store, said he then went home to tell his wife, Kimberly, the good news.
"Oh, she was ecstatic," he said.
Collins said he and his wife plan to use his winnings to purchase a new central heating and air conditioning unit for their home.  They also plan to purchase a new computer.
The $10 game, "100 Million Dollar Blockbuster," officially began on Sept. 26, 2007.
