Kansas City, Kan., Man Wins Second $50,000 Tax-Paid Lottery Prize

A Kansas City, Kan., man won $50,000 tax paid* when the five numbers on his SHOW ME 5 Paydown ticket matched the five numbers drawn Feb. 25 during the Midday drawing.  David Rios, 55, previously won the game’s top prize on Oct. 13, 2006.
Rios purchased both winning tickets at Millennium Super Stop, 1603 W. 12th St. in Kansas City.  He selected his own numbers for his winning ticket.  They were:  6, 12, 18, 24 and 30.
To date, 132 players have matched all five numbers drawn to win $50,000 tax paid in SHOW ME 5 Paydown since the game began on Nov. 6, 2000.

* The Missouri Lottery will pay 25 percent federal and 4 percent state withholding taxes for the top prize based on its value.  Depending on personal income, winners may owe additional taxes for the prize, or they may be entitled to a refund.  Total value of the top prize is $70,422.55.  After withholding, the winners will receive $50,000.  If more than 14 tickets match the five winning numbers in a single drawing, $1 million will divided equally among the number of winning tickets.
