St. Peters Man Wins $200,000 Powerball Prize

Story Photo A St. Peters roofer is planning to get settled for his baby girl after winning a $200,000 Missouri Lottery Powerball prize in the Feb. 6 drawing.  Joshua Kemp, 26, matched all five white-ball numbers to win the second-level prize.  His winning numbers were 3, 5, 12, 42 and 43.
"I’m still in shock," Kemp said when he claimed his prize in the Lottery’s St. Louis office on Feb. 8.
Kemp said he had purchased several tickets for the Feb. 6 drawing and had his girlfriend check the tickets on the evening of Feb. 7.  She started checking them at the bottom, and the first row of numbers turned out to be the $200,000 winning combination.
"My girlfriend is having a baby in May, so it’s perfect timing," Kemp said.
Kemp said he plans to buy a house and pay off his car with some of the prize money.  He plans to save the rest of it.
Kemp purchased his winning ticket at Thoele Convenience Store, 403 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Peters.  His ticket was the 87th second-level winning Powerball ticket in Missouri since the game redesign in Aug. 2005.
