One Joplin man will be trading a snowy Missouri for a balmy Hawaii in February after winning a trip for two to the all-star professional football game in Honolulu. Steven Woodard, a photo lab supervisor at a drug store in Joplin, won the trip after initially being one of 48 Missouri Lottery players to win two tickets to the Dec. 17 Kansas City football game against Denver through the Lottery’s Pigskin Paradise promotion. "I couldn’t believe it when they called my name," Woodard said. "I still have a hard time believing it." Woodard said he plans to take his fiancee, Buffy Boyd, with him to Hawaii. Prior to the game, the 48 winners and their guests were invited to attend a catered pre-game luncheon buffet. During the luncheon, Woodard’s name was randomly drawn from the 48 winners to win the trip to Hawaii. The Hawaii trip includes airfare and a five-day, four-night stay in Honolulu, along with two tickets to see the all-star football game. Entry forms for Pigskin Paradise were available from October through November at participating Missouri Lottery retailers.
