Rolla Man Wins $20,000 Lottery Prize

Story Photo Frank Luebbert, Rolla, is starting off the new year $20,000 richer after uncovering the prize on a Missouri Lottery "100 Million Dollar Blockbuster" Scratchers ticket. Luebbert, 46, bought his ticket at Mertens Mini Mart, Highway 63 and Gilbert in Freeburg, on Dec. 27 on his way to Jefferson City.
"She (his wife) scratched it off and said, ’It looks like we won $20,000,’" Luebbert said.
Luebbert said that he and his wife, Tabra, don’t play the Lottery very often so they weren’t sure if they won. Tabra Luebbert’s mother was with them, so they had her look at the ticket, but she wasn’t sure it was a winner. The Luebberts stopped at a gas station and had the clerk check the ticket, and the clerk confirmed that it was a winner worth $20,000.
Luebbert is a general contractor in the Rolla area. He said that business is slow this time of year, so the prize money will help out through the rest of winter.
"100 Million Dollar Blockbuster," a $10 game, officially began on Sept. 26.
