ILLINOIS MAN WINS POWERBALL ON 50TH BIRTHDAY

Turning 50 wasn’t hard at all for one Illinois man after finding out he won $100,000 in Powerball on his birthday on Nov. 29. Richard Braymer, New Athens, Ill., bought his winning ticket at Mobil Pump Handle in St. James, on his way back from visiting relatives in Oklahoma for Thanksgiving. Braymer and his wife, Pearl, said they plan to use the money to "have a nice Christmas," pay bills and put some in savings. Braymer let the computer pick his winning combination. The numbers were: 1, 4, 20, 27 and 29. To date, 505 Powerball tickets worth $100,000 have been sold in Missouri since the game began in 1992.
