LOTTO JACKPOT SOLD IN KANSAS CITY

Someone who Bought a Lotto ticket at Texaco, 600 N.W. 68th St. in Kansas City is $3.8 million richer today. Missouri Lottery reports show one ticket sold at that location matched all six numbers drawn Saturday night to win the jackpot. The winning numbers were: 4, 18, 26, 41, 42 and 44. The winner has 60 days from the drawing to decide if he or she would like to receive the money in one lump-sum cash payment (cash option) or in annual payments for the next 25 years (annuity option). The amount for the one-time cash payment is the money in the jackpot prize pool that the Lottery would normally invest, which is approximately half of the advertised jackpot, or in this case, approximately $1.9 million before taxes. If the player chooses the annuity option, he or she would receive approximately $152,000 a year before taxes for the next 25 years. If you think you hold one of the winning tickets, sign the back of the ticket, put it in a safe place until you can take it to the Lottery’s regional office located in Independence at 3630 Arrowhead Ave., across from Independence Center.
