Florissant Man Wins Top Lottery Prize

Story Photo Fred Steinbecker, Florissant, is $77,000 richer after uncovering a top prize in the Missouri Lottery Scratchers game "Lucky 7’s." Steinbecker, 53, purchased his ticket on Dec. 5 at 7-Eleven, 900 Shackleford in Florissant.
"Great Christmas present, eh?" Steinbecker said when he claimed his prize on Dec. 6.
Steinbecker scratched off his ticket at the store. He knew he had won all 20 prizes, but didn’t know what the prize amounts were. He told his wife, Melinda, that he had probably won $100, but it would be nice if it was more. She told him that she thought it was much more than $100. Steinbecker scratched off the prize amounts to reveal the top prize total of $77,000.
"My wife broke my eardrums," Steinbecker said.
The Steinbeckers plan to do some work on their house and to have some fun with some of their prize money. They are going to put the rest of the money in savings.
"Lucky 7’s," a $5 game, officially began on July 14.
